Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Wilson, North Carolina

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing (Med Surg)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes (as 2nd nurse to Telemetry and Emergency Department)

Unit Information

• Units: 3rd and 5th floors, Medical-Surgical units
• Number of Beds: 22 beds per unit
• Patient Ratios: 6:1 up to 7:1
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Surgical patients, including procedures such as PD exchanges, placements, and psychiatric care
• Equipment: Telemetry
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): MEDITECH (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Certifications: BLS and NIH certifications required
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (highest required years of experience)
• Skills:

  • Must have Meditech experience
  • Preferred experience in Med Surg specialty
• Personality Fit: Family-oriented environment

Additional Information

• Orientation is bi-weekly
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
• No specific prior travel experience required for this position
