Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg/Telemetry Unit
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
Call Requirements: None
Weekends: 4 shifts per schedule
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Neuro Medical/Surgical
- Number of Beds: 30
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 CNC, 3 RNs, 3 LVNs, 3 PCTs, 1 U
- Night Shift: 1 CNC, 3 RNs, 3 LVNs, 3 PCTs
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Equipment: Welch Allyn Vital Signs, COWs, Hoyer Lift, PCA Pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, Teleneuro
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Registered Nurse License
- IV Certification for LVNs (preferred skill set on unit)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in Med Surg/Telemetry specialty
Preferred Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – preferred but not required
Typical Procedures Performed
- Stroke NIH assessments
- EEGs
- Gastric decompression
- Wound care
Work Environment & Culture
- Team-oriented and self-motivated staff preferred
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs required; hoop nose piercings not allowed
