Job Details
- Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Technician)
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Employment Type: Travel
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Three twelve-hour shifts, weekdays (weekends if possible)
- Call Expectation: Approximately 5-6 weekday call shifts and 1 weekend call shift per 8-week period
- Unit: Operating Room with 11 ORs
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- EMR System: Epic
Experience & Skills Required
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Experience Needed: Ortho, Total Joints, Neuro, Spine, Robotics
- Must Have Skills:
- Patient advocate as circulator while supporting the sterile field
- Preferred Skills:
- Vein Harvesting
- Experience as circulator
- Experience as scrub tech
- Typical Procedures:
- Total Joints
- Multi-level spine fusions
- Variety of Xi Robotic cases (GYN, Colorectal, General)
- Minimal ENT, Dental, Eyes, or plastics cases
Certifications Required
- Current CST and CSTFA through NBSTSA
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- OR First Assist Certification
Work Environment
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: ~8 RNs, 8 scrub techs, 5 surgical support techs
- Night Shift: 1 charge RN and 1 scrub tech in-house with call team backup
- Equipment: Variety of OR beds and equipment
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided by facility
