Job Opportunity: RN - PCU (Cardiology and IMC)

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III trauma center with 198 beds
• Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, nephrology, pediatric, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
• Cardiology and Intermediate Care (IMC) unit with 24 beds
• Patient population: Adult to Geriatric
• Patient Ratios:

  • IMC Day Shift: 1 RN to 4 patients (active titrating drips 1:3)
  • IMC Night Shift: 1 RN to 4-5 patients
  • Med/Surg Day & Night Shift: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
• Equipment: Standard cardiology monitoring (Telemetry, T-1’s), IV pumps, crash carts
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Cardiology and Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts)
• Weekend Hours: Vary, based on a two-week pay period
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes, floating to PCU, Medical, Surgical, Nephrology units as needed

Requirements

• Licensure: Current RN license in the state of New Mexico
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or higher
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiology or Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Skills:

  • Cardiology or IMC experience required
  • Preferred: IMC & Cardiac Care skills
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: STEMI, Non-STEMI, Stroke, Post Cath, Alcohol-related conditions

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience explicitly required
• Normal floating expected to PCU, Medical, Surgical, Nephrology units
• Competency exams and skills checklists required for submission
