Registered Nurse - Transplant Surgery (Travel)

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Information

• Department: Transplant Services (Abdominal - Liver, Kidney, & Pancreas)
• Setting: Outpatient
• Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
• Staff: 60-70 RNs
• Patient Ratios: Not specified
• Work Type: Primarily desk work with computer skills required (MediTech, TransChart, PatientKeeper, Microsoft Office)
• Typical Activities:

  • Desk work and data collection
  • Potential clinic days involving rooming and assessing patients
  • WebEx meetings as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of transplant surgery experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years of transplant experience
• Experience with United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS)
• Experience with Organ Procurement Organization (OPO)

• Flexibility in patient assignments (pre-transplant, waitlist, and post-transplant care)
• Caring and compassionate demeanor, especially for complex psychosocial patient needs

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs or business casual
• No weekends or on-call required
• No floating assignments
