Job Summary

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique.
• Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to doctor’s preference lists.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and supplies; maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases.
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and policy.
• Assist in specimen maintenance and preparation for laboratory analysis.
• Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps per policy and standards.
• Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup, restocking supplies, and equipment care.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency.
• May be required to be on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (40 hours/week)
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends may be required for some positions.
• On-call requirements discussed during interview.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.
• Surgical Technologist experience.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required, or training in the US military may substitute for formal surgical technologist training.

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred.

Skills

• Surgical technology, CVOR scrubbing, sterile technique.
• Instrumentation handling and specimen care.
• Room turnover, supply restocking, and equipment care.

This position is suitable for experienced CVOR Surgical Technologists seeking a 13-week contract with day shifts in Colorado.
