Registered Nurse - Rehab Contract

Overview

• Location: New York, New York
• Setting: Medical-surgical / rehabilitation unit
• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Schedule: 3x12s with weekends required; every other weekend required
• Contract length: 9 weeks
• Unit size: 24 beds
• Average census: 18
• Staffing ratio: 1:6

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Rehabilitation experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation experience
• BLS certification
• CRRN certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in a rehabilitation setting
• Patient care management experience
• Modified primary nursing experience
• Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Associate degree in nursing considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
• Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions of care, health promotion, and disease prevention
• Support patient experience through relationship-centered care, rounding, and service recovery
• Maintain quality, safety, documentation, and compliance standards
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned
• Help coordinate supplies, staffing resources, and patient throughput
