Job Opportunity: MICU Registered Nurse

Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Patient Ratio: 1:2 (with occasional 1:1 based on acuity)
Unit Size: 16 beds
Patient Types: Sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella
Floating: Required
Locals: Not accepted; must live over 75 miles away
First Time Travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS certification
Experience with Epic charting system

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract, including but not limited to:

Physical exam (within 1 year)
Fit mask test (annual)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID required
7-year criminal background check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, updated monthly
Education verification from primary source (transcripts/diplomas if no verification on file)
State-specific checks including sex offender registry and Medicaid exclusion list as applicable
Employment verification of at least 2 past employments
References (2 within 3 years) required for agency direct candidates

Orientation includes completion of safety manual acknowledgment
Photo for badge required (passport-style with solid background)
Candidates will be required to complete facility-specific modules prior to start
Parking pass form required for orientation
