Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years of Operating Room experience prior to travel. Candidates must have experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, Gynecology (GYN), and Orthopedics.
Unit Details
- Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics.
- Weekend and call schedules are variable and will be discussed during the interview.
- Floating within the facility and to outpatient areas as needed.
- Minimum 3 years of experience required on the unit; first-time travelers are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment required; no first-time travelers accepted
- Minimum 3 years of overall nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Neurology, Transplant, OB/GYN, and Orthopedics specialties
Important Notes
- No holiday requests will be approved during blackout dates: November 23-29 and December 21-January 3.
- Maximum of 7 days allowed for return to office (RTO).
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment).
- Locals are accepted at the same rate.
- Candidates must pass required competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams if applicable.
- Color blindness testing is required.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 60 days of start.
- Required health documents include physical exam, TB testing, immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap), flu vaccination or declination, and others as applicable.
- References: Two clinical references required.
- Work history verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification.
- State license verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Annual NURSYS verification for RN license.
- Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
Prior Travel Experience
- The unit does not accept first-time travelers; prior travel experience is required.

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Operating Room RN with strong multi-specialty surgical experience. Candidates must be fully compliant with licensing, certifications, health screenings, and background checks prior to start. Pros
1:6 ratio for med surge. Float pool was great and staffing was very good with communication where to go each shift and would put you back for continuity of care if asked. Doctors on call at night helped and listened.
Cons
Cost of living is rough, area and patients are sick. One to no cnas for help. Minimal supplies and some staff weren’t always helpful.
