Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Unit: Neuro Med Surg (Night Shift)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift)
- Floating: Floating within scope to other units allowed except ICU, SDU, and ED
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Accepted
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg / Telemetry
- Experience in Neurology nursing
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working in an Acute Care setting
Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- CPI or MAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or Management of Assaultive Behavior) if applicable
- Oncology competency exam for Med Surg-Oncology Unit if applicable
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree
- Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not required for Missouri)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or equivalent within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, and Regulatory Compliance Education must be completed prior to start
- Facility-specific policies on hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code must be reviewed and acknowledged
