Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

• Work in a Medical Telemetry Oncology Unit
• Telemetry certified RN with experience administering chemotherapies
• Experience with trauma level 1 and 2 patients
• Experience with cardiac GTTs (limited titration) and telemetry-driven protocols
• Exposure to cardiac interventional procedures such as TAVR, Mitral Clips, Watchman, Lead Extraction, complex PCI Angiogram, dysrhythmias, vascular procedures, and hemodialysis (administered in-room)
• Chemotherapy infusions and pre-open heart care
• No block schedule requests allowed
• Must be able to respond within 5 days max for return to office (RTO) consideration

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Minimum 3 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Telemetry experience
• Trauma experience, including working with Level 1 and Level 2 trauma patients
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Social Security number required (no physical card needed)
• Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, statewide, federal, nationwide, sex offender, and international searches if applicable
• Primary source verification of state RN license
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Immunization and health requirements including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B titer, proof of series, or declination
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (year-round requirement)
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology, patient restraints, OSHA, and core parts I-III (minimum 85% score required)
• Completion of facility-specific modules and training including Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) training annually
• Review and sign facility policies such as code of conduct, confidentiality, appearance and dress code, internet usage agreement, and applicant disclosure statement
• References: At least two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (references must be from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
• Employment application copy required
• Washington state-specific background checks including WSP/WATCH and WA Courts search

This position is ideal for experienced oncology RNs with telemetry and chemotherapy administration skills who have prior travel nursing experience and are ready for a 13-week contract in Washington state.
