Job Opportunity: Pediatric Apheresis Registered Nurse
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift, Monday – Friday)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Weekend: No weekend shifts required
On Call: Yes, one week at a time on a rotation of 5 nurses (7pm – 7am plus weekends during on-call week)
Floating: No floating required
Job Description

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients in apheresis
- Experience in a FACT accredited unit
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification
Additional Requirements & Competencies
- Must complete Pediatric Pharmacology competency exam (80% passing score)
- Required to pass a Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam prior to start (applicable to PICU, CICU, NICU, ER; remediation available if needed)
- Must complete a skills checklist for pediatric nursing; additional unit-specific skills checklists may be required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, county civil searches, national criminal database, sex offender watch, and others as required
- E-Verify attestation required
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year prior to start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (any Tdap after age 11 accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – titers or vaccines with boosters if needed
- Varicella – titer or 2 vaccines, boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B – positive antibody titer, completed vaccine series, or signed declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct–March)
- TB screening: Negative Qgold/Tspot within 12 weeks of start or 2 PPDs (one within 1 year, second within 12 weeks)
- Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety clearance) and fit testing valid for entire assignment (fit testing on site not allowed)
- Photo for badge on blue background required within 72 hours of contract signing
- Completion of facility-specific mandatory training modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
- Math test and EKG test required onsite (not pass/fail; remediation available)
Work Environment & Additional Info
- No floating to other units
- On-call rotation includes nights and weekends during assigned week
- Facility encourages use of public transportation; parking access available via badge with payroll deduction authorization if applicable
