Job Details

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Criminal background check within 6 months, including:

  • Statewide searches
  • Highway patrol check (Missouri)
  • Nationwide and sex offender searches
  • International searches if applicable (lived/worked internationally in last 7 years)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest degree related to dietetics (no pending at start)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including panels for amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP; must not expire during assignment
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) registration if applicable (time sensitive)
• Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois (not required for home care)
• State-specific exclusion and sanction list checks for Illinois and Missouri, renewed quarterly

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask (N95) testing, renewed annually; must be able to shave facial hair for proper fit
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (2-step PPD or T-Spot/Q-Gold acceptable)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination (Tdap expires every 10 years)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity by positive titer, vaccination, or medical statement; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 - April 1)
• Hepatitis B declination form required (vaccine not mandatory)

Competency and Skills Requirements

• Unit-specific competency exams, including medication/pharmacology competency
• Color blindness testing within 12 months of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (noted for float units including Telemetry)
• Skills checklist specific to unit required within 1 year of start

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and regulatory compliance education annually
• Review and sign facility policies including:

  • HIPAA Acknowledgement
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire
  • Confidentiality Form
  • Hand Hygiene Policy
  • Fingernail Policy
  • Dress Code Policy
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., Management of Assaultive Behavior, CPI)

References and Documentation

• Two professional references required (supervisors within last year preferred)
• Employment application must be submitted and uploaded
• Performance evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for extensions or per diem

This position requires a licensed Registered Dietitian with at least 1 year of experience, willing to work day shifts with weekend requirements, and able to float as needed. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific policies is mandatory. First-time travel dietitians are welcome to apply.
