Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology
Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week, 7-hour shifts (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- On-call required: 2 days per week plus every 4th weekend
- Hurricane sign-up required (not guaranteed)
- Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years recent Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
- Minimum 2 years recent Critical Care experience
- Experience with Level 2 trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center procedures
- Must have experience with:
- Neuro embolizations and cerebral thrombectomies
- Neurovascular procedures
- Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Biopsy procedure support
- Trauma and Peripheral Vascular procedures
- Skills required:
- Administering and monitoring procedural sedation
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Radiation and laser safety
- Sheath removal and monitoring/closure devices
- Pressure ulcer prevention
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
- Background check within 6 months of start date, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification required; official transcripts or diploma accepted if verification is un-verifiable
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start, valid within 30 days of start date
- Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA, confirming fitness for duty without restrictions
- Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months or chest X-ray within 2 years if prior positive
- Annual fit mask test with approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines, positive titer, or declination
- Annual flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Annual TB questionnaire
Required Training & Competencies
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (annual)
- Annual skills checklist
- Competency exams as applicable to specialty (annual)
- Color blindness testing (annual, minimum 80% score)
- Completion of facility-specific online orientation and modules, including but not limited to:
- Clinical/Online Orientation Module (1-year expiration)
- Annual Risk Management Course Module
- General Compliance & Ethics Training Module
- Code of Conduct Module
- Comprehensive Emergency Management Education Module
- Preventing & Reporting Workplace Harassment Module
- Stroke and Stroke Core Measures Review Module (1-year expiration)
- Procedural Sedation Adults and Pediatrics Course Module (2-year expiration)
- ICU Medical modules related to primary set/spiros and hazardous drug administration
- Nurses' Guide to Safely Administering IV Medication Module (3-year expiration)
- Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace Module (3-year expiration)
- PPE Donning and Doffing for COVID-19 Module and Attestation
- Additional nursing-specific modules as required for safe practice and compliance
References
- Two professional references required from within the last 2 years (state mandated for all candidates with direct patient contact)
