Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shifts: Day and Night, 12-hour shifts
- Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Schedule includes every other weekend and some holidays
- No on-call required
Unit & Specialty Requirements
- Experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) required
- Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required
- Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start

- Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – CVICU

Testing & Competency Requirements
- Telemetry test (Adult or Pediatric as applicable) with strict passing criteria:
- Minimum 80% overall score
- 100% in lethal rhythms subcategory
- 100% correct on 3rd degree heart block questions
- Up to 3 attempts allowed with remediation required after 2nd failed attempt
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide and Wisconsin caregiver screening
- Education verification as applicable
- Employment application required
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years (Aya standard)
- Wisconsin BID form (state-mandated) must be completed and validated
- Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual and Pass/Fail Telemetry testing
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers
- Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer (history of chickenpox not accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form if declining
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Other vaccines or declinations as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)
- Drug screening per Vaya standard (clinical candidates)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge (no selfies, headwear only for religious/medical reasons)
- Completion of communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Medical or religious exemption forms for flu, MMR, Varicella vaccines if applicable
- Completion of UW Health Rhythm Interpretation Course if remediation required after telemetry test failures
Additional Notes
- Physical exam not required by facility but collected to meet Aya standard
- Fit mask completed onsite; no copy required
- Drug testing required for clinical candidates, pharmacy department candidates have additional requirements
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Arrhythmia experience
- Telemetry experience
This position is ideal for experienced CVICU RNs with strong telemetry and arrhythmia skills, comfortable working 12-hour shifts on a travel contract in Wisconsin.
