Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Paramus, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day)
• Weekend Requirement: 1 out of every 6 weekends
• Work Setting: Home Health (requires driving between patient visits)
• Mileage Reimbursement: Provided for travel between visit locations and for mileage exceeding the distance between home and client office, reimbursed at IRS standard mileage rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Home Health experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in a Home Health setting

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Pass/Fail Telemetry Competency Testing onsite (one attempt allowed; failure results in contract cancellation)
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam with minimum 80% score, updated annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam with minimum 80% score, updated annually (not required for Home Health)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, and III) covering patient safety, HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, ethics, and other nursing essentials; 80% passing score required and must be updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific self-learning modules and post-tests with 100% passing score prior to start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Background and Verification Requirements

• 7-year background check including national and state criminal, sex offender, OIG sanction, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and OFAC sanctions lists, completed within 6 months of start
• Education verification of highest degree (diploma acceptable as placeholder if verification pending)
• Employment verification covering last 7 years, completed at least 2 Fridays prior to start; no starts allowed with pending verifications
• Two professional references required: one supervisory within last 12 months, one professional within last 3 years
• Skills checklist specific to unit required

Additional Information

• Minimal Return to Office (RTO) requirement: 5 days or less
• No declinations or exemptions allowed for COVID-19 or flu vaccinations
• Candidates must be prepared to provide information for ID badge creation during orientation

This position is ideal for experienced Home Health Registered Nurses licensed in New Jersey who meet the vaccination and competency requirements and are comfortable with travel between patient homes.
