Job Details
- Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), approximately 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Some weekends and holidays required
- Unit: BICU (Burn Intensive Care Unit)
- ICU experience required
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of Burn ICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace and nationwide sex offender search
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID form required
- Education verification as applicable for RN specialty
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines
- Physical exam and immunization documentation per facility standards (including TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or approved exemption)
- Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required
Testing and Competency Exams
- Telemetry testing (Adult Telemetry Test) must be completed and passed before start and updated annually
- Candidates allowed up to 3 attempts with remediation required after 2 failed attempts
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and pass/fail testing acknowledgment required
Immunization and Health Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- MMR: 2 doses or positive titers; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer; exemptions accepted with documentation
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and/or declination form required for direct patient care roles
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually during flu season
- Other vaccines (e.g., Meningococcal) as applicable based on department assignment
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge issuance (no selfies, headwear only for religious/medical reasons)
- Completion of communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Completion of required exemption forms if applicable (Flu, MMR, Varicella)
- Signed acknowledgment of Joint Commission Safety Manual annually

This is a 13-week travel Registered Nurse position in a Burn ICU setting on night shifts in Madison, WI.
