Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Tucson, Arizona (Travel/Contract)
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Float: Required based on census
- Local Candidates: Not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications (must be within required renewal periods):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- EFM or AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Orientation
- Orientation held twice monthly; attendance required
- Facility-specific orientation sign-off required for RNs
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of assignment start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
- Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year (PAPR allowed onsite)
- Immunizations and titers required with no declinations allowed for certain vaccines:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations allowed except for Pediatrics, PICU, Pediatric ER, Mom & Baby, Labor & Delivery units)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (declinations NOT accepted)
- Hepatitis B (declinations allowed with signed form)
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold, Tspot, or PPD) within 3 months of start; if positive, chest x-ray within 1 year showing no active TB
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
- Drug testing (12 panel) must be completed within 30 days of assignment start
Documentation and Compliance
- Background checks must be completed within 30 days of start and cannot be pending at start
- Employment application with last 7 years of work history; gaps over 30 days must be explained
- Two professional references from employment within last 3 years required; one must be supervisory
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Facility-specific job description and traveler welcome letter must be signed prior to start
- Compliance with facility policies including tobacco, nicotine, and vaping policy
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for float assignments based on census needs
- Pass/fail testing failure may result in contract review or cancellation
- No local candidates accepted for this assignment
