Job Opportunity: EP Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab - Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
- Responsibilities include circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing all EP procedures and implants.
- Average daily census: 4-8 EP procedures per day.
- Utilize Biosense Webster Mapping system in 2 EP rooms with 3 EP providers.
- Tasks include circulating, conscious sedation, scrubbing, and telemetry monitoring.
- Scrubs are provided.
- Unit accepts first-time travelers.
Schedule
- Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM to 7:00 PM).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
- Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Lab experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start.
- Primary source verification of Missouri RN license via NURSYS.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP). Must be current throughout assignment.
- Fit mask test (N95 respirator) required and must be renewed annually.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, with yearly TB questionnaire.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1).
- Required facility-specific documents to be completed prior to start:
- HIPAA Acknowledgement (annual).
- Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual).
- Confidentiality Form (annual).
- Regulatory Compliance Education and quiz (annual, must score 80%+).
- Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment.
- Fingernail Policy acknowledgment.
- Dress Code Policy acknowledgment.
- Orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) completed through online platform unless completed earlier in the calendar year.
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months).
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start.
