Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• Ratios: 1:5-6
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend

  • Day shift: Saturday and Sunday every other weekend
  • Night shift: Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation

Experience & Certifications

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
• Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit):

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • CPI or MAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or Management of Assaultive Behavior)
  • Other unit-specific certifications as applicable

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly)
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• State-specific background checks (Missouri Highway Patrol, MO EDL, MO FCSR)
• Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not required for this Missouri assignment)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing required annually (N95 respirators)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Regulatory Compliance Education, and other facility-specific documents must be completed prior to start

Competencies & Documentation

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Unit-specific competency exam required annually
• Skills checklist required within 1 year of start (Oncology skills checklist if applicable)
• Employment application and professional references required
• Performance evaluations may be requested but not mandatory for clearance or extensions

Additional Notes

• Clinicians may be required to float to Telemetry within their scope
• No on-call requirement
• Badge photo and facility badge required
• Orientation modules (~16 hours) must be completed prior to start unless recently completed at the same system
• No parking cost at facility

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience, who hold current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke certifications, and are comfortable working night shifts with weekend requirements in a progressive care unit setting. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are accepted.
