Medical Surgical RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Start timing: Within the next 3–5 weeks
Schedule notes: One on-call shift per 6-week schedule; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Distance consideration: Candidates at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Certifications

NRP, as applicable
Chemotherapy certification, as applicable
TNCC, as applicable
EFM, as applicable
ENPC, as applicable
NIH Stroke Certification, as applicable

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

Government-issued photo ID
E-Verify or attestation
Background check
7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM within 30 days of start
HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
Education verification of highest level
Texas DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
Texas Employee Misconduct Registry check within 30 days of start
NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Pass/fail testing acknowledgement for telemetry RNs
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam, as applicable

TB screening or chest X-ray
Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap, and flu documentation or immunity status

Pros

Travel friendly, great staff, clean ER, everyone really helps out good team nursing skills. You will see snd learn alot at this ER. Night shift is were its at, great team.

Cons

High acuity and often short staffed. Very busy. Probably one of the hardest places ive worked but you see ALOT and use your skills!! Tired after every shift. Definitely not for the weak. You really need some experience to work here.
