GI / Endoscopy Technician

Overview

  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • Call: 24-hour call once per week and one weekend every 6 weeks

Role Summary

  • Assists the RN and physician during endoscopy procedures
  • Sets up and turns over procedure rooms before and after cases
  • Supports endoscopy procedures in the ICU and Operating Room as needed
  • Transports equipment for setup in other locations
  • Performs pre-cleaning and decontamination of the endoscope
  • Works across an ambulatory surgery center and an inpatient unit
  • Must be able to ride the aerial tram between locations

Required Qualifications

  • Endoscopy Technician experience within the last year
  • One year of experience within the last five years in a clinical or hospital-based GI procedure unit or surgical procedure room setting, including assembling supplies and instruments, preparing rooms for procedures, and participating as a procedural team member
  • Completion of a surgical tech program at a community college or one year of clinical/hospital-based GI procedure unit or surgical procedure room experience within the last five years
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with therapeutic procedures such as EUS, ERCP, and DBE
  • SGNA GI Assistant Certification

Additional Notes

  • Overnight and weekend call may be required depending on experience
