Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Endoscopy position requiring pediatric GI nursing experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- hhhospital setting in the Pediatric Endoscopy unit,
- ,care ambulatory setting supporting pediatric GI procedures
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Candidates may be required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric GI or GI nursing experience required
- Previous ambulatory nursing experience required
- Pediatric triage experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BLS certification required
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills required
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Intermediate computer skills including email and EHR navigation
- Skills in venipuncture, specimen collection, and medication administration required
- Experience with patient assessment, vital signs, and medication reconciliation required
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
- Prior travel experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication administration, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures
- Duties also include patient teaching, follow-up phone calls, and interpretation of lab results
- Sets up aseptic and sterile procedure trays
- Performs venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen labeling
- Candidates who refuse a requested float assignment may face contract cancellation
- Returning staff must have a gap of at least 6 months since their last assignment to be eligible
- Former employees or travelers at this health system must complete a reference with their previous supervisor
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront and should not exceed 2 weeks
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- First-time travelers may be considered based on qualifications
