Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 3x12 hours
  • 19:00–7:00
  • 36 hours per week

Unit / Setting

  • CVICU
  • Float scope includes CVICU and NTICU, plus Telemetry, Acute Care (neurology, Surgical, Ortho/Med) Obs, and ED boarding

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • CVICU (1 year of experience)
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network
  • NIHSS
  • T-CAR
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with multi-system organ failure
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with arterial lines
  • Blood Product Administration
  • Experience with central line management
  • PICC line management
  • IV insertion skills
  • Experience with conscious or moderate sedation
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred

  • Experienced traveler with 2–3 prior completed assignments

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Multi-system organ failure
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Arterial line management
  • Blood product administration
  • Central line care/management
  • PICC line management
  • Starting IVs
  • Continuous IV sedation
  • Emergency medications
  • Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • BiPAP and CPAP support
  • Care of ventilated patients
  • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
  • Interpretation of ABGs
  • Suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Ventilator management
  • Infection prevention and isolation precautions / PPE
  • Phlebotomy
  • Surgical wounds with drains / wound vac

Key Clinical Context

  • Open heart, MI, Impella, IABP, trauma, neuro, proning, CRRT, NextStage CRRT, massive transfusion policy
  • CABG, donor, post-cardiac arrest, post-surgical care, respiratory distress, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, overdose, nitric oxide
  • Unit procedures include chest tube insertion, central lines, PICCs, bedside tracheostomy, Keo tube placement, IO insertion, codes, massive transfusion team support, backup for Hospital Cardiac Arrest Team and Rapid Response Team, intubation, cardiac cooling catheter (Zoll), cardiac cooling pads (altrix), and removal of femoral cath
