Labor and Delivery RN

Assignment Details

• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• 1st timers accepted
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Pre-approved time off is case by case

Unit / Setting

• High Risk/High Volume L&D
• 4 ORs
• 31 rooms
• 31 beds
• Average daily census: 15/day
• 500–600 deliveries/month

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 3 years of registered nurse experience
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 2 years of experience in high-acuity and high-pace environments
• Experience circulating in the operating room
• Experience providing newborn care including eye care, Vitamin K injections, thigh assessment, and newborn assessment
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring
• Current NURSYS
• Must pass clinical review
• Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery and continues newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Must circulate
• Must provide newborn care, including eyes and thighs assessment, Vit K injections, and newborn assessments
• EPIC familiarity

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of high risk experience
• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NRP

Float Scope

• May float to Post Partum / Antepartum
• May float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby

Clinical Notes

• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Patient diagnoses include midwifery clients, private OBs, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics
• Electronic fetal monitoring is used
• Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate are part of the role
