Bed Placement Coordinator

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Orange, California
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Float required between UCI facilities
  • 6 weekends per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in California
  • Case Management (2 years of experience)
  • Case Management experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
  • Experience with Epic

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and assigns appropriate bed placements for intra- and inter-facility admissions and transfers
  • Coordinates with nursing units, case management, physicians, and other departments to support timely transitions of care
  • Monitors patient census and bed availability to anticipate needs, resolve placement delays, and identify discharge barriers
  • Serves as the central liaison between the Emergency Department, peri operative services, inpatient units, capacity management teams, operations, physicians, and case managers
