Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN Bed Placement Coordinator with CPI Blue Card certification and EPIC experience for a day-shift role coordinating hospital-wide bed placement and patient flow.
Details
- Bed Placement Coordinator role within a hospital's capacity management function
- Facilitates bed assignments for intra- and inter-facility admissions and transfers
- Coordinates with nursing units, case management, physicians, and other departments for timely transitions of care
- Monitors patient census and bed availability to resolve placement delays and discharge barriers
- Serves as liaison between ED, peri-op, inpatient units, capacity management, operations, physicians, and case managers
- Prioritizes high-acuity patients and resolves placement conflicts to optimize bed utilization
- 3x12-hour day shifts, Sunday-Saturday rotation, 7:00-19:30
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Float required between UCI facilities
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required in-hand (MAB or online CPI Blue not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- Specialty unit experience requires at least 1 year full-time equivalent experience within the past 2 years
- EPIC experience required and must be reflected in work history
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Two supervisor references required
Additional Information
- Supervises nursing care delivery across all organizational units
- Applies clinical knowledge across ICU, new admissions, post-procedure, post-surgery, and transfer-to-higher-level-care scenarios
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Prior travel experience required to apply, with exceptions noted in some postings
- Returning staff must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to be eligible as a traveler
- No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
- Screenshot confirming RTO request required at time of application
