Registered Nurse – Dialysis

Job Description

• Work in both inpatient and outpatient dialysis settings (approximately 50/50 split).
• Assignment may include RN and Patient Care Technician (PCT) roles based on need.
• Flexible shifts available: 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours.
• Shift start times vary from as early as 5:00 AM to as late as 7:30 PM.
• PM shift (8 hours) starts at noon in the outpatient clinic.
• Weekend and holiday coverage required every other weekend and holiday.
• Float between inpatient and outpatient units as needed.
• On-call/call-back required twice weekly as needed, including every other weekend when working; response time within 1 hour. Weekend call may require two shifts.
• Patient ratios:

  • Inpatient: 1:4 with dialysis tech or 1:1 in ICU units
  • Outpatient: 1:8
• Block scheduling can be accommodated.
• 36 hours of low census unbillable hours eligible; travelers may be on call during these hours with call-back pay if called in.
• Guaranteed hours per week except during holidays when the unit is closed.

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in dialysis nursing in an inpatient setting.
• Prior experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis required.
• Trauma Level II experience highly preferred.
• Epic charting experience preferred.

Additional Information

• Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Scrub color is flexible (any color allowed).
