  • Every other weekend
  • Orientation is on day shift

Assignment Length

  • 18 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (3 years of experience)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NBRC
  • Critical care experience
  • NICU experience
  • V60 BiPAP/980 Puritan Bennett Ventilators experience
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience
  • Experience with Epic

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy procedures and treatments
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator alarms
  • Perform suctioning, extubation, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
  • Perform aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, MDI therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP mask therapy, cough assist/vest therapy, and high-flow cannula/humidifier therapy
  • Perform adult, pediatric, and neonatal BLS when necessary
  • Complete pulmonary function screening, fit testing, adult and pediatric EKGs, and blood gas laboratory quality control
  • Verify physician orders and document/report procedure results
  • Participate in external patient transports
