Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, patient education, and mentoring/precepting staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, and implement care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and practice governance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum of 2 years telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an inpatient acute care setting
- Proficient in acute care nursing and patient assessment
- Demonstrated team leadership skills
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
