Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Day (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every other weekend
Hours: 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, customer satisfaction, and professional development within a Practice Governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and coordinate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
- Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for quality, safety, and service improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in practice governance and process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
