Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Day (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every other weekend
Hours: 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, customer satisfaction, and professional development within a Practice Governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and coordinate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for quality, safety, and service improvements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in practice governance and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in an Acute Care setting
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
