Job Opportunity: RN Procedural - Electrophysiology Lab

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse - Direct Care


Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a specialty area focused on electrophysiology. Core responsibilities include:

  • Managing an assigned group of patients
  • Documenting patient responses and changes in physician orders
  • Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
  • Administering medications and managing IV infusions and blood products
  • Delivering competent patient care and communicating care plans to patients and families
  • Overseeing treatment by technicians and other service providers
  • Delegating tasks to support staff
  • Making referrals regarding patient care needs
  • Performing other assigned duties

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the specialty area
  • May require completion of orientation and ability to function independently in the specialty prior to assignment

Education Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (preferred)

Certifications & Licensure

  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized care
  • Some computer skills
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees

Everyone is pretty friendly, good location , Oklahoma City is a fun place to stay, you get to make your own schedule

Cons

No techs at night, tough 3:1/4:1 ratios, hem/onc but open to all types of patients (also an earring disorder unit now), older facility and rooms are TINY
