Registered Nurse II - Endoscopy

Job Description

• Works under the supervision of the Director.
• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized patient care according to departmental policies and Nurse Practice Act.
• Individualizes care based on age-appropriate and developmental needs.
• Responsible for directing co-workers in implementing the plan of care.
• Collaborates with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to deliver care plans.
• Utilizes positive communication skills.
• May be required to work on other nursing units based on staff and patient distribution.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Unit Details

• 3 Recovery bays
• 2 Procedure rooms plus travel to ICU, Diagnostic Imaging, OR, etc.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks (90 days converted to weeks)

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Endoscopy experience
• Progressive Care, Critical Care, and/or Emergency Room experience
• Airway management skills
• EKG interpretation
• Moderate sedation administration
• Knowledge of sedatives and reversal medications
• Experience with Phase II recoveries
• Flexibility with unit needs
• Recent charge nurse experience preferred
• Open to floating within cluster/similar departments (highly desirable)
• Epic electronic health record experience required (minimum 6–12 months within the past year)
