Job Opportunity: Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Description
- Perform, document, and communicate results of diagnostic 2D and M-Mode echocardiographic procedures and stress echocardiograms under physician supervision.
- Responsible for hooking up, disconnecting, and downloading Holter monitors.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) via Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross, valid throughout the assignment.
- Valid state license verification completed within 30 days prior to start.
- Completion of a skills checklist specific to the unit, updated annually.
- Successful completion of core competency exams with a minimum score of 80%, updated annually.
- Valid driver’s license or state ID (not expired).
- Physical/health statement within the past 12 months confirming ability to work without restrictions, including height, weight, vitals, and vision screening.
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings:
- MMR (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series)
- Varicella (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series)
- Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or approved declination)
- Tdap within the last 10 years or approved declination
- Tuberculosis testing within the last year (PPD or Quantiferon), with follow-up as needed for past positives
- Annual fit test completed within the last 12 months.
- Negative 9+ panel drug screen (excluding marijuana, which is not tested per New York state regulations).
- Background check completed within 30 days of start, including national and county criminal searches for all counties lived/worked in the last 7 years, SSN address trace, and FACIS 3 check.
- Submission of a detailed resume accounting for all employment and education history for the last 7 years.
- Two professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the last 3 years.
- Signed and dated job description and other required agency documentation (e.g., code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgement, confirmation of assignment).
- Color headshot photo (professional, no filters, JPEG format).
Additional Information
- COVID-19 vaccination proof or agency declination is optional but recommended.
- Centralus-specific forms and documentation must be completed and submitted as required.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
