Cath Lab Tech

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Bel Air, Maryland
Contract length: 13 weeks
Day shift options accepted: 3x12 or 4x10
On-call, weekends, holidays, and floating within the specialty/department are required

Required Qualifications

Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Maryland
Cath Lab Technologist (1 year of experience)
Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
ARRT-R or RCIS

Schedule

3x12 days: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
4x10 days: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
On-call requirement: approximately 8 weeknights and 4 weekend 24-hour shifts per 6-week schedule

Pros

IMC Ratio 1:3, traveler friendly (many have renewed for at least a year), decent crew of staff

Cons

Unit is disorganized; you spend much of the day walking back and forth for simple supplies that should be more conveniently located. Huddle time is way too long and frequently leaves you getting out super late by the time report is over. Also the patient population in that area is a little trashy.
