Behavioral Health RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN role in Saint Louis, Missouri
  • Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within the service line and to all behavioral health units
  • Charge nurse duties may be assigned as needed
  • Adult psychiatric and geriatric population, including patients with co-morbid medical conditions

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Behavioral Health experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Behavioral Health experience
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • CPI
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Inpatient experience
  • Geriatric experience
  • Locked unit experience
  • Medical/Psych experience
  • Substance use/Chemical Dependency experience
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Foley catheter insertion and maintenance
  • Pre-operative preparation for ECT
  • Restraint application
  • Med Psych experience
  • Experience with Epic

Schedule / Assignment Details

  • First-time travelers may be considered
  • No on-call
  • No block scheduling
  • Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off
  • Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Clinical Notes

  • Patients may have dementia, depression, Parkinson’s disease, bipolar disorder, or anxiety
  • Some patients require pre-op preparation for ECT
  • Restraint application and presence in milieu are part of the role
