Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Columbia, Missouri
• Medical Specialties unit with a 57-bed max capacity
• Float scope: MS and MS/Tele
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• Internal medicine patient population with a wide range of medical diagnoses
• Charge nurse and supervisor on every shift
• Average ratios: 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights; days may go up to 6 and nights up to 7
• Unit features include video monitoring capability, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1.5 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• CPI

Additional Job Expectations

• Accepts first-time travelers
• No locals within 50 miles
• Work 50% of holidays during the contract
• Rotating shifts, weekends, call, and inclement weather coverage may be required
• Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Must work at the assigned location for the full contract term
