Job Overview

• Location: Rochester, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday, if needed
• Floating: Required within skillset
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Local candidates: Accepted, with a lower local rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in New York
• LPN / LVN (2 years of experience)
• LPN / LVN experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Med Surg experience
• Telemetry experience
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Skills

• Vital signs and pain assessment
• Intake/output monitoring
• Isolation precautions and physical restraints
• Specimen labeling
• Oxygen administration via nasal cannula
• Feeding tube management
• Telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG
• Medication administration by oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear, and eye routes
• IV therapy with pumps
• Blood glucose monitoring
• Basic wound care, including simple dressings and JP/Hemovac drains
• Bathing and mouth care
• Foley catheter insertion
• Clean catch urine collection
• Communication of status changes to RN/MD
• Medical-surgical/telemetry care setting

Unit Details

• Medical patients may include COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, and social issues
• Day ratio listed as 1:5–6

• Background check required
• Health screening and immunization documentation required before start
• Drug screen required within 30 days of start
• References required for Aya candidates only
