Labor and Delivery RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in Los Angeles, California
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 20-week contract
- Start date: 11/16, no exceptions
Schedule
- 4 weekend shifts per month, on Friday or Saturday nights
- On-call is voluntary
- May be placed on call if not needed for the scheduled shift
- Must work most holidays
- No RTO during the first 2 weeks
- Up to 3 days of RTO maximum
- Holiday RTO may be submitted but is not guaranteed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic
- EFM
Required Certifications
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- NRP issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- AWHONN Advanced
Required Skills
- External fetal monitoring
- Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Circulating for C-section
Unit Focus
- Low- and high-risk labor and delivery
- Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
Additional Requirements
- Must complete a pass/fail fetal monitoring competency exam within 1 year of start and renew annually
- Must complete a workplace violence prevention / behavior management course with an in-person component within 90 days of start
- Must complete a fire card for Los Angeles; if not obtained before start, there is a 2-week grace period after start
- Must complete pre-start modules before clearance
- Photo for badge is required before start
- Government-issued photo ID and emergency contact form are required before start
