Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Conyers, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Weekend: None
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 1 year (Unit does not accept first-time travelers)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (not accepting first-time travelers)

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Must have a valid Georgia Physical Therapist license in hand before start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke, etc.) may be required based on specialty/unit—refer to clinical track requirements
• Annual license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time
• Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Physical exam required within 12 months of start
• Drug screening (10-panel) required within 60 days of start, negative results mandatory before start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
• Color blindness test required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs and LVNs (may not apply to PT)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required if working in telemetry or critical care areas (may not apply to PT)

Work Expectations

• Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
• Expected to work major holidays if they fall during the assignment:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Additional Notes

• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 10 hours for 10-week assignment)
• References: 2 clinical references required
• Skills checklist and work history verification required, can be pending at start with proof of processing

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Georgia
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience
• Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
