Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide infusion nursing care for Urology and GYN Oncology patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
  • Familiarity with intravesical bladder instillations for bladder cancer required.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts (08:00 - 16:30).
  • Charting system: Oncology MedConnect (Cerner).

Required Qualifications

  • License: Must have a valid District of Columbia RN license in hand before submission.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in outpatient oncology infusion nursing.
  • Experience with chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration is required.
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card preferred.
  • Certifications required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC approved.
    • Chemo Certification (ONC/ONCC).
  • Skills preferred: Infusion center experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
  • Criminal background check within 90 days, including multiple state and federal checks.
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually.
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
  • Immunization and health document requirements including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year.
    • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers.
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccine or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years with a passing score of 80% or higher.
  • EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam may be required depending on unit assignment.

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Must complete facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start.
  • Valid driver's license required only if driving is an essential job function.
