Medical Surgical RN Travel Contract

Overview

  • Location: Tucson, Arizona
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Patient ratio: 1:5–6
  • The role includes orthopedic diagnoses with medical overflow
  • Floating is required within scope of care/practice
  • Full contract length commitment is required
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • May be asked to float to a sister facility about 25 minutes away

Required Qualifications

  • Active Arizona RN license
  • BLS certification, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
  • At least 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience
  • EPIC familiarity

  • PALS certification
  • NRP certification
  • EFM certification
  • ENPC certification
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI or MAB certification
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
  • Specialty competency exam
  • HIPAA competency
  • Pass/fail testing may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM screening
  • HHS/OIG screening
  • State license verification
  • NURSYS verification
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • RNs orientation sign-off
  • Traveler welcome letter signature
  • Facility-specific job description
  • Employment application
  • Skills checklist
  • 2 professional references from employment within the last 3 years, including 1 supervisory reference

Health and Compliance Items

  • Current driver’s license or state ID showing address
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit testing within 1 year of start
  • Tdap within the past 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray documentation
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/vaccination documentation
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
