Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900-0730)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Job Description
- Position for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Every other weekend required
- No call or float requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required (review specifics)
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and other relevant assessments may be required within 3 years of start date
- Annual safety manual acknowledgement required
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required
- Annual TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar)
Additional Requirements
- Complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Clear, professional photo for badge required
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually
Work Environment & Expectations
- Night shift with 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
- No float or call responsibilities
- Every other weekend coverage required
