Job Details
- Position: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Call Requirement:
- 1 weekend every 4 weeks
- 2-3 nights per week
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
- Must be able to scrub cases
- Pediatric cath lab experience is not required; adult-only cath lab experience is acceptable
- Only accepting first-time travelers with more than 10 years of nursing experience
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Ohio RN license or Compact RN license
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certification only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certification only
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- 2 supervisory/professional references required at time of submission (1 must be a supervisor/manager; Charge RN acceptable for one reference; peer references not accepted)
- Must be able to scrub cases
- Current government-issued photo ID required within 24-48 hours of contract signing (no temporary IDs accepted)
- Resume or employment application required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
Background & Screening Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including every county lived/worked)
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse (standalone verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start; must be updated for each new contract
- Sex offender search within 30 days of start
- Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, and State Abuse Registry searches within 30 days of start
- Drug screen (9-panel) negative result within 60 days prior to start
- Fingerprinting proof of submission required within 24-48 hours of signing
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (candidates sign Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical copy)
- N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually
- TDAP vaccine required within 10 years of start (must be completed after age 11)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last 12 months (PPD or IGRA acceptable); additional requirements if positive
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity: positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B: declination, completed 3-vaccine series, or positive titer required
- Varicella immunity: positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative or equivocal
- Seasonal flu vaccine required October 31 - May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval and mask requirement during flu season
Additional Notes
- Candidates must have legal name matching all licenses and certifications (no nicknames or aliases)
- Education verification required; special approval needed if nursing diploma is below ASN/BSN level
- Screenshots or photos of certifications and immunizations are not acceptable for compliance documentation
- Fit testing documentation must be completed annually regardless of facial hair; options available for candidates with beards
- Background check and license hits must be reviewed and approved by compliance team before facility approval
- Fingerprint results may pend at start; facility can complete onsite fingerprinting if needed
