Job Details

• Floating: Required to float between like units (not to sister facilities)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Social Security trace, sex offender search, OFAC sanctions list search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks as required
• Drug Testing:

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 45 days of start (includes marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, and others)
• Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap proof
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or 2 vaccines each (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation or approved exemption (mask required if declined)
• Respirator Fit Testing: N95 fit test required within 12 months of start; medical clearance required for onsite fit testing
• References: Minimum 2 clinical references or 3 current references required
• Performance Evaluations: If worked over 1 year, evaluation on file preferred but not required
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable unit
• Employment Application/Resume required

Additional Notes

• Radiation badge and attestation of prior radiation exposure required only for specific units (not applicable for L&D)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and confidentiality agreements required for allied candidates (not applicable here)
• Traveler must carry all required documentation and certifications during assignment

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable with floating within similar units and working weekends. First-time travel nurses are not accepted for this role.
