MRI Tech - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations under general supervision following established protocols for physician interpretation.
• Duties include general MRI exams and specialized imaging such as implants, elastography, defecography, breast, and cardiac MRI.
• Potential float between two nearby outpatient clinic locations.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
• Alternative shift options considered: 4x10-hour (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3x12-hour (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
• Saturday requirement: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on some weeks, with adjusted weekday hours to maintain 40 hours/week
• No call requirement
• Holiday shifts not required

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required
• BLS certification required

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination (declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination, or documented history of chickenpox or declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required (no declinations accepted)
• COVID vaccination highly preferred; if declined, a specific vaccination declination form must be completed
• Orientation modules must be completed within 5 days of start
• Photo for badge required prior to start (color, frontal view, solid background)

• Outpatient clinic setting
• Charting system: Epic
• Dress code: Teal scrub top and black pants
• Parking: No cost to employee
• Radius rule: 60 miles
• Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Important Notes

• Travelers should be aware of potential hurricane season emergency response assignments (June through November, peak in August and September). Avoid confirming new or extended assignments during this period if this is a concern.
• Facility may call off one shift per two weeks
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application and approved based on unit needs
