Microbiology Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Unit Details
- Position is strictly for Microbiology; Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) not accepted.
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
- Weekend schedule: Every third weekend.
- No on-call required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
- Clinical screening required to determine fit before final manager approval.
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler must work it.
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both.
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them.
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
- Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
Contract Length
- Approximately 9 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
- Medical Technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
