Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location

Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse - WOCN preferred)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: June 8, 2026, or ASAP
- Shift: Day shift, primarily 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30), with consideration for 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 - 16:30)
- Hours per week: 40 hours
- Schedule: Block schedule Monday through Friday
- Weekends: Not required
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May be required to float within the specialty to a downtown campus if needed
Patient Population & Unit Details
- Patient Age Range: All age groups
- Average Census: Approximately 15 patients per day
- Patient Diagnoses: Pressure injuries, chronic and acute wounds, ostomies
- Unit Details: Wound care team rounds on 4 to 5 units daily
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 1 year of wound care experience, with wound care experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Wound Care Certification (WCC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal history check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Education verification
- Various federal and state exclusion and sanction list checks
- Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models accepted)
- Immunizations and titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination/declination as applicable)
- TB testing: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year or 2-step PPD as required; annual updates
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination: Not required for this location; exemptions accepted for tracking purposes only
- Facility-specific documents: Confidentiality agreements, badge application, dress code review, and other onboarding paperwork must be completed prior to start
- Competency Exams: Medication, age-specific, dysrhythmia/EKG, and other competency exams as applicable, with minimum passing scores
Additional Notes
- Floating may be required within the specialty to a downtown campus
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and compliance steps prior to start date
- Epic training test-out option available for eligible candidates with prior Epic experience
