Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Amarillo, Texas

Job Description
- Work schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Facility: 450-bed hospital, trauma level 3
- Patient population includes ortho, neuro, oncology, post-op back and neck, basic med-surg, and ICU (medical, cardiac, surgical)
- Team: 8-10 Physical Therapists and 6-8 PT Assistants daily
- Collaboration with Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Case Management teams
- Locals within 50-mile radius are not accepted
Requirements
- Licensure: Texas Physical Therapist license (pending applications accepted)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience (no prior travel experience required)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
- Chemotherapy certification as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable
Compliance & Documentation
- Background checks including 7-year history, SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, and education verification
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of employment application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Candidates must be willing to travel and cannot be local within 50 miles
- This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment length
