Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Post Acute Long Term Care
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The LPN partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care.
Units include:
- 3 East: 31-bed specialized unit for Alzheimer's/dementia residents, focusing on tailored care using verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and understanding behaviors associated with dementia.
- Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: 42-bed unit providing short-term skilled nursing and rehab services for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short-term illnesses or injuries. Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
- 3 West: 42-bed long-term care unit providing care for residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN/LVN license in Maine
- Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) experience within the last year
- Long Term Care experience
- BLS certification
- Associate degree in Nursing
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
- Candidates with licensure conflicts will not be considered
- Prior travel experience is required for this position
